Overview of the West Java:
West Java is located on the western tip of Indonesia's most
populated Island Java and is only a few hours drive from Jakarta,
although the area is so close to Jakarta, generally the area
is more typical of any other indonesian coastal area with live
based around fishing and farming with some tourism, mainly
aimed
at visitors from jakarta.
The Waves:
Apart from Panaitan island,
west java generally lacks the quality and quantity of many
other areas in Indonesia, the waves here are generally very
average
beach
breaks with the odd fun reef, its not really the place for
surfers seeking Indo barrel perfection but if your in Jakarta
or need a more mellow option, then the area may be worth
a trip.
Crowd
wise: Due to being located so close to Jakarta crowds
numbers can vary greatly, although the area
is not
a big
surf
destination
in
Indonesia,
there are many local and expat surfers based in Jakarta
and on holidays and weekends crowding can occur especially
at Cimaja and even these days further afield at Turtles.

Charter
boats that focus on the West java:
Charter boats generally don't focus

if conditions are no good at Panaitan or to seek waves that
are more suitable to guest surfing abilities.
